Job Title: Low-Bed Driver

CDL: Class A

Employment Type: Full-Time
Union Requirement: Teamsters (must be a member or willing to join)


Job Summary:

Bay Cities Paving and Grading is seeking a skilled and dependable Class A CDL Low-Bed Driver with an active DOT medical card. The driver will be responsible for the safe transport of heavy equipment, trucks, and materials between shop and job sites. Must be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of working flexible hours.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate low-bed trailers and safely transport heavy equipment.
  • Load and unload equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Secure loads using chains and binders.
  • Perform and document daily pre/post-trip inspections.
  • Report equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of truck and trailer.
  • Accurately log deliveries and hours of service.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A CDL with current DOT medical card.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience hauling heavy equipment; oversized load experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 70+ lbs, sit for extended periods, and climb onto equipment.
  • Strong time management and reliability.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation.
  • Willingness to work over 40 hours/week, including night work and weekends as needed.

Compensation:

  • Per the current United Contractors/Teamsters Master Agreement for Northern California

Hiring Process:

  • Driving and loading tests required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
